Conceptual metaphors about Chilean education and students represented by 2006-2018 online English-speaking newspapers

چکیده

This investigation aims to find how Chilean education is perceived by 69 English-speaking online newspaper articles from 12 different countries. A qualitative study coherent with metaphoric analysis was carried out identify metaphors about and students. Conceptual found in the 99 fragments taken these news are organized into two dimensions. Each dimension deals a topic related Chile it represented media: system , student role conflict . Most of newspapers scrutinized focused on commercial conflictive side education, making categories Commercialism War most frequent ones. The mentioned as main subject analysis. can be defined due contrasting viewpoints stakeholders involved inability come terms each party. unchanging state affairs has led ceaseless protests general unrest population.
